Looking for buffalo wing substitute? Then these buffalo cauliflower bites are for you! This easy cauliflower recipe is drowned in buffalo sauce for those buffalo sauce lovers and showered in blue cheese crumbles.
My mom and older sister love buffalo cauliflower. We went happy hour a while back and one of their items are cauliflower buffalo bites. I never even heard of them before and got an order.
And they are delicious! I decided to try making my own version when my family came over to my house for lunch one day and they loved them! I didn’t realize they were all gone until after my family left and I was cleaning up.
Some of us are huge blue cheese fans. I know my husband and I are! We are not ashamed of sprinkling blue cheese by the handful but we have to control ourselves. Mainly because my younger sister is not a blue cheese person, so the blue cheese is optional or can be put on the side.
I really hope you enjoy this! So, try this out and don’t forget to tag me on Instagram or Facebook. I would love to see your creation!
1 head of cauliflower, washed and cut into florets
2 eggs, beaten with 1 Tbl. water
1 cup panko bread crumbs
½ cup flour
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
2 Tbl. Oil
2 Tbl. butter, melted
½ cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
¼ cup blue cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400*
Cover a baking tray with foil.
Have the beaten egg with the water in one bowl and the panko crumbs in a second bowl. In the third bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Dip the cauliflower florets into the egg mixture, then the flour mixture, back into the egg, and into the bread crumbs. Place onto the baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of florets until all of the cauliflower is coated.
Lightly brush the top of the florets with oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crisp.
In medium bowl, combine the hot sauce and melted butter. Set aside.
Put the baked cauliflower in a bowl and pour the sauce over them. Carefully mix to cover all the florets.
Pour the buffalo cauliflower onto a serving plate and sprinkle with the blue cheese.
