Preheat oven to 350℉ Grease an iron skillet with oil or butter.
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.
Add the 8 tablespoon slices of butter into the flour mix and press with a fork or dough until it becomes a crumbled mixture.
Mix in the shredded cheese. buttermilk and garlic powder. Continue to mix until a wet dough forms.
Drop generous spoonfuls of dough around the skillet.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Remove from oven and brush the melted butter oven the baked biscuits. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
