This homemade marinara sauce is rich in flavor and easy to make. It only takes a 5 ingredients and the longer it cooks, the better the taste!

I love making homemade marinara sauce because you can get store bought anytime! You can even tell the difference between store bought and homemade. Store bought marinara sauce is delicious but homemade gives a personal touch to a meal and that makes it even more delicious than it already is.

I love the simplicity of homemade marinara sauce. How it can make or break a dish. And it can be made for any dish you want. Pasta, meat, bread, or as a dip. It doesn’t matter because it will be delicious and your family will tell the difference.

It’s also really nice to make it ahead of time for the busy week to come. You have it ready to go and don’t have to worry about taking that extra step for dinner.

I always try to cook the marinara for as long as possible. I aim for at least an hour but it tastes amazing at the 3 hour mark. I have noticed that the longer it cooks, the more the flavors blend together and becomes more rich.

I like to use the canned Cento San Marzano stewed because they have a richer flavor but you can you any brand of your choice. If you prefer to have the tomatoes already crushed, than that is fine too. If you use canned crushed tomatoes, don’t worry about adding in any extra water. Just add right into the pan.

I really hope you enjoy this! So, try this out and don’t forget to tag me on Instagram or Facebook. I would love to see your creation!
