These Dog Berry Birthday Pupcakes are the perfect T-R-E-A-T to give to your fur baby on their special day and for their canine friends.
Now that Cooper is almost 8 and becoming a senior, his stomach is becoming more sensitive to certain foods. He still enjoys a carrot every now and then, but not as much as when he was a puppy. And although he stays on a healthy diet, we enjoy letting him indulge in a special dessert every so often.
And that’s where these dog berry birthday pupcakes come in. With Summer arriving and berries on the market shelves, I figured it was time to make him a new favorite. He absolutely loves his mini birthday cake, but after having a bite of these little ones, he could be torn between the two.
My inspiration for these dog berry birthday pupcakes came from none other than a berry smoothie. I wanted to make him something refreshing yet contains health benefits. I also wanted to incorporate ingredients that help with strengthening the immune system, provide a shiny fur coat, as well as make it stomach sensitive. But another great plus is that these help freshen their breath.
The batter smells very much like a smoothie. Then once baked in the oven, the aroma is more of a banana bread. It smells so stunning, and the cake comes out incredibly tender.
For the berry portion of the recipe, use any berries your fur baby loves most. It can be just one berry, or a combination of two or three. I had both strawberries and blueberries on hand, so I used both. You can also use any milk of your preference if you don’t have coconut milk.
If your pet enjoys the Birthday cake recipe I make for my dog Cooper, then they will enjoy these dog berry birthday pupcakes as well. They are easy to make and also freezer friendly. After baking and icing each pupcake, flash freeze them for 30-minutes before transferring them to a freezer bag. They can be stored for up to 6 months. To unfreeze, simply let them come to room temperature before giving to your dog.
